Broad leaves, raindrops pooled,
funneling later to roots
thirsty in the sun
Thunderstorms puddle
watery lakes on broad leaves,
Nature’s reservoirs
Deep throats open to
botanical champagne flutes
drink a dewy toast
Because one set of haiku simply doesn’t do justice to the speed with which she comes running when she hears me swear…
Vacuum cleaner dog
as long as you’re in the house
food spills clean themselves.
